Most of our aligner patients are in their 30s and 40s.

Not teenagers. Not college students. Adults who've been thinking about this for years — who said "I should've done this in high school" at least once — and finally decided to do something about it.

If that sounds like you, this is for you.

Why adults choose aligners (and why now)

Crooked teeth are one of those things people learn to live with. You angle yourself in photos. You cover your mouth when you laugh. You've made peace with it — sort of.

But clear aligners changed the equation. They're nearly invisible during treatment. You take them out to eat and drink. Nobody at work needs to know. And the results are permanent — your teeth don't go back.

The "I'm too old for this" barrier doesn't really exist. Teeth move at any age. The biology is the same whether you're 22 or 47.

How Invisalign actually works

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, clear plastic trays — each one slightly different from the last — to gradually shift your teeth into position. You wear each set for about one to two weeks, then move to the next.

You take them out to eat, drink (anything other than water), brush, and floss. You put them back in. That's most of it.

Every few weeks, we check your progress and move through the series together. Treatment length varies depending on the complexity of your case — some patients finish in a few months, others take longer. I'll give you a realistic timeline at your consultation, not a best-case-scenario one.

Is Invisalign right for you?

Aligners work well for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and bite issues. More complex cases — significant overcrowding, certain bite problems — may need traditional braces or a combination approach. I'll be straight with you about which category you fall into.

One thing I won't do: recommend aligners if they're not the right tool for your teeth. That helps no one.

I'm Invisalign certified and have been since 2025 — and part of what that training gave me is a clearer sense of when aligners are the right call and when they're not.

What about the retainer?

Yes — after treatment, you'll wear a retainer to hold your teeth in their new position. This is normal and important. I'll talk you through it. It's not complicated, and it's worth it.

One honest note

Aligners only work if you wear them. The standard recommendation is 20–22 hours a day. Patients who treat them like an optional accessory don't get the results. If you're consistent, you will.
